More than 100 youth and community members participated in this month’s ‘Race for Peace’ on March 6th. The race was organized by HCI to promote peace and tolerance, specifically among teen boys, before the upcoming presidential election. Participants listened to speeches about acceptance, peaceful contest, and fair competition. In addition, youth, HCI staff, and handicap community members took part in a 2.5K race through Amanful and Brofredu districts of Cape Coast, followed by a parade. Participants coming in for their age range first received t-shirts and anti-malarial bed nets for their families.
