How do I become a Hoops Care International Volunteer?

(Please note all volunteers must be at least 18 years old and speak English)

 Fill out the application .  Send it back to info@hoopscare.org

Once you are accepted make your deposit to reserve your space:

You should pay the deposit of $100 per person to the Barclays Bank account to reserve your place. (Please note that starting in December 2011 the deposit increases to $150). Participants make balance payment of their fees within 18 hours after their arrival inGhana. It is payable in US Dollars, Ghana Cedi, Euros or British pounds equivalent.

Sign and return via email the by-laws agreement document that is sent to you with your   acceptance.

Purchase or reserve your plane ticket, get the required vaccinations, obtain travel medical insurance and a tourist visa forGhana(please see FAQ section for information on obtaining a visa).

Email your flight information to info@hoopscare.org so that we can arrange for you to be picked up at the airport!

HCI

 

Hoops Care International (HCI) is a non-governmental organization located in the community of Amanful in Cape Coast, Ghana. It officially began in 2008 as a program to empower youth in the community through sports. Since then, it has grown to include care and outreach surrounding health and education. HCI works closely with youth from twelve schools in Cape Coast, along with single mothers, teen mothers, and handicapped individuals. In addition to running regular activities and programs surrounding sports, health, and education, HCI also coordinates events to address important issues. HCI has made a significant impact with its programs already, and always looks for new ways to support and empower community members
